Children’s workshop facilitator – Exeter team

CAP UK has received funding from the Big Lottery to increase our work in the city and surrounding area. A CAP workshop facilitator works as part of a team of facilitators that visit primary schools in Exeter and South Devon. The team work with whole class groups, delivering the scripted workshop in pairs. The job also involves using role-play with the children in the interactive workshop. On occasions, a facilitator may need to deal with disclosures from children. Facilitators will be needed to attend additional training sessions and meetings. The CAP project also runs staff and parent training sessions and facilitators are asked to occasionally support the Team Leader in the delivery of these.

This post is for 290 hours in the classroom, with additional hours for training and attending whole team meetings. All the work takes place in term time but does often involve early starts. CAP children’s workshops usually run on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays but we also hold team meetings on Thursday mornings once a month. Hours needed to work are agreed a term in advance. No specific experience is required for the role; however previous experience of working with children, or workshop delivery is required. It is vital that candidates respect children and believe in their empowerment.
